Version 1.6 of Amplify includes bug fixes, improvements and new features to the system.
What’s new in 1.6
Voice-activated self-detailing using a Player node
With the release of this feature, the editor can create a voice-activated self-detailers in Amplify, which enables the end-users to listen to a specific narration of the eDetailer slide before continuing the conversation in the chat.
To utilise this functionality, all you need to do is incorporate the new Player node while constructing a conversation, which will generate an audio player in the chat in the end-user’s end. The audio player can be configured to automatically play and provides users with control over playback, including options such as play, pause, skip and even replay if they wish to listen again.
Publish older versions of an amp to a specific domain
In the publish popover of an amp you will now see a new button called “Publish older version”. Clicking this will open a popup, that includes a list of all published versions of the amp. By selecting one of these versions and thereafter clicking on the “Publish selected version”, it is possible to publish an older version of the amp to the specific targeted domain.
This feature is particularly useful in cases where changes were accidentally deployed that weren’t meant to go live yet. With this feature, it is easy to quickly publish the previous version of the amp, so it shows the previous content again.
Improved flow when copying eDetailer amps
When it comes to copying an eDetailer amp in Amplify, the process can take some time as all files and conversation data need to be copied. This includes configuring test domains and much more. As a result, editors may have to wait before they can open and edit the newly copied eDetailer in Amplify.
However, with this latest release we have made significant improvements to the copy flow of eDetailer amps. We now ensure that editors are able to quickly open the new copy in Amplify while we continue with the copy processes running in the background.
This means that you will no longer experience long waiting times when copying an eDetailer amp!
Other notable improvements
In the Media Library of each amp, we have introduced filters, that allows editors to to filter assets based on their file type.
The conversation in self-detailer will no longer start before the slide has successfully loaded.
Self-detailers now render an error screen if the amp hasn’t been published.
We’ve made various improvements around the undo/redo actions in Amplify, where we change the focus to the node affected by the undo/redo action.
Better error handling when editors try to upload too large assets to the Media Library in Amplify.
